When working on this project I knew I wanted to do something that showed that ESAs are working for many different people and they are not just a joke or something that you can use to have your dog be able to live with you in places that would normally not allow it. These ESAs have an amazing effect on so many people, myself included, I just wanted them to get the true recognition that they deserve. For this project I interviewed two people, asking them both the same questions, relating to Emotional Support Animals. I chose to keep them both anonymous because the reasons that an individual has an emotional support animal can be very personal and many do not want to talk about it. But, for the sake of research, both of these individuals are college-aged. I wasn’t sure going into it how I wanted to format the interview because I did interview the two people separately. But, I thought about interviews that I have read that have asked multiple people the same questions & figured that an audio interview being formatted the same would have the same effect. So, I set the question before the two answers, then played the answers always in the same order so you can follow the two individuals if you are unable to tell their voices apart. I added a little intro to the beginning explaining the project, but I am not entirely sure if I like it there or not. Also, for the questions I read off I don’t really like the way some of them are said. So, before I do my final I think I am going to re record those to make them all sound more like cohesive questions.
Awesome interviews! I think the way you structured your audio with the introduction of the project was great. It tells listeners what the purpose is and frames the interviews well. You also did a great job of sounding enthusiastic about the topic which engages listeners and makes you sound credible.
My first critique of your audio story would be to put a little snippet closing out the interview at the end. I felt it ended very abruptly and I was waiting for the closing to such a strong introduction and body of audio. My second critique goes along the lines of something you mentioned maybe wanting to adjust in your post. I think some of your questions had some background noise or fuzz that could be rerecorded to sound clearer. It is okay in your interviews of people because it helps define each individual interview, but the parts when you speak should be as clear as possible.
Other than those small touches, I think your project is awesome and I loved hearing these stories on Emotional Support Animals and their owners.

Hi Alisha! I really liked your audio story and I think it’s super original and interesting. The story that you are telling is relevant and important, and I think that’s what makes this story so strong. I have two ideas that you may want to consider implementing into your project that could potentially make it stronger. I think that you may want to add some ambient music in the beginning; I think some music that is similar to what we used in the Murrow assignment would really add to the project and give it a nice opening. I also think that editing out the questions that you ask might be beneficial; I don’t think it’s needed. I think that if you go back and leave the interviews separate and let them stand on their own, it might make the piece flow better as a whole. Overall, great job! I’m super excited to see how everything turns out with your project.

From my critique, I learned that the formatting I made my draft in made sense, which was something that I was very worried about. But now knowing that the format of the of the draft made sense I feel much more secure in my audio project. I also agreed with my peers when they said that I should add an ending to the audio. Although, I am very close with the time limit of 2 minutes and I’m not entirely sure what I could take out (to be able to add the ending) to still convey enough information to get the full story. I also agreed with Mikenna in saying that I should rerecord the question asking portion to a higher quality audio. I really appreciated my peer feedback they seemed to support me in the doubts that I had in myself already (that I mentioned in the section under the audio) and I know for sure now that I have some work to do before I turn in my final.
