Here is my logo for Emotional Support Animals! I took two plain black paw prints and footprints and then used the pen tool to trace them and make then into vector graphics. I did the tracing for the main part of both the foot and paw, but then used the ellipse tool for the toes on both. For the paw prints, they are the same for the left and right. The footprints on the other hand are different. I only traced the left foot, but then just copied the left foot and reflected to get the right foot. Then, to match the previous poster that I made last unit I used a similar color scheme for this logo. I really liked the idea I came up with for my sketch and I stuck with that for this, although I did switch the sides the different prints are on. I don’t think it makes much of a difference but, I will maybe compare both ways before I do my final. I am a big fan of this logo and think it would work well on many different things, from business cards to shirts. I considered adding the words “emotional”, “support” and “animal” underneath the corresponding letter, but then thought that just having the acronym would raise more questions and make people ask about it. Therefore creating more awareness for emotional support animals. When people see something they are not sure what it means, but seems appealing, they are more inclined to ask question to learn. I think the footprints next to the paw prints does a good job of catching your attention. The font that I used for this logo is called chillok and I found it on dafonts.com, the same place where the varsity lettering for the tutorial project came from.
Logo Draft
I really enjoy the colors and simplicity of your logo and agree that not including the “Emotional Support Animal” is not written though I think it would be beneficial. I see where it looks nice without it but if someone were to see the logo and only the logo then they would need something to get your brand out there. I would try even incorporating it in the letters itself maybe putting them in a path at the bottom of each letter, or even making the letters a darker shade to allow them to really stand out and pop. Second suggestion would be to combine the photo a little maybe alternating the feet and the paws. That way it could give the illusion of them working together and being one unit. Though I really enjoyed the cleanliness of logo and how neat everything was placed. It looks very soft and gently just how emotional support animals should be! Great job!

Looking at your logo I do like the pictures and the abbreviation of “Emotional Support Animals” to “ESA” because that is a big name and looks much better on the logo abbreviated. One critique I do have however, is this logo does not really stand out to me. I think it becomes really easy to loose track of where the logo starts and ends, if that makes sense. For example I think that if you used the ellipse tool to create a rectangle or a circle, or what every shape you want, to kind of outline the logo as a whole, that would make It stand out and become more recognizable. Also I feel like your logo could use maybe just a few more words in a smaller font (but kept the same color and style) by using the type tool, and adding a half of a sentence at the bottom of the logo like “my journey with my ESA” or something along those lines. Because an ESA animal already has a logo for that, so although you may of found inspiration from other ESA logos, I think you could rally make it your own by adding a few more words, a name, or a place, to really make it your own and showcase what can be found on your blog as a whole.

This logo is great, it is creative and really looks cool. You mentioned putting this logo on a t-shirt and I would for sure buy a shirt with this logo on it, it looks really cool. When I looked at the logo for the first time I wasn’t one hundred percent sure what “ESA” actually stood for and I assume this could be a problem for others that see the design and are not familiar with emotional support animals. I suggest maybe having text at the bottom that spells out “Emotional Support Animals” like you had mentioned in your reflection. Your dog paws are also leaning more to the left, it kind of looks slightly like they are walking away from the human feet, if you could straighten them out then that would be good. I really like this logo and am excited for the final result. Also if you do put these on shirts let me know, I would buy one!

The colors you used go well together in my opinion. As well as the font, the font matches well with the overall vibe of the design. This deign reminds me of something playful but secure, it could almost be a logo for a veterinary or some sort of animal care. If I did not know that this program was about emotional support animals I would think what I said in the previous sentence. It does make me question like you said, what the letters stand for but I feel that not everyone would be interested in finding out what they stood for. Maybe the addition of a new graphic would add more context, something along the lines of an animal showing empathy/affection toward something human. This aside, I still think that this is an effective message in that it gets my thoughts going in the proper direction – an interaction between animals and humans, its great :).

As I have read my peers feedback I have learned a few things that I want to add to my design and a technical error I hadn’t noticed. The first thing I will be doing when I go to edit this to my final draft is to fix the angel of the dogs paws. This is something I totally hadn’t noticed, but I know I would have eventually and it would have driven me crazy. So, I was very happy to get other eyes on the design to notice this. I also want to go in with the same font of a similar one and add the full words emotional, support and animal. I think I’m going to put them under each of the letters because they all have a flat bottom to align them on. I also got a few comments that the design is a bit too pale and gets lost, so I think I will also play around with new colors to help that.
